Commander Mile Madarac
Born and educated in Melbourne, Victoria, Commander Mile Madarac joined the Royal Australian Naval College in July 2002. He commenced Seaman Officer training in January 2003 that included postings to HMA Ships Arunta, Fremantle and then Success, where he was awarded his Bridge Warfare Certificate. From 2005 to 2007 he served as an Officer of the Watch in Success, Darwin and Melbourne, and served as a PWO in HMA Ships Newcastle, Melbourne, Sydney and Anzac.
In January 2013 he commenced an instructional posting to HMAS Watson as Directing Staff (ASW) at the School of Maritime Warfare, and following his posting of Executive Officer in HMAS Toowoomba and Ballarat, returned as Officer in Charge of the School of Maritime Warfare in December 2016.
CMDR Madarac undertook Australian Command and Staff Course in 2018, on conclusion posting in to Capability Division as the Principal Staff Officer to Head Navy Capability, and on promotion in September 2019 became the Capability Performance Manager. In January 2020 he posted as the Capability Support Manager (Afloat Support) at the Amphibious and Afloat Support Group.
CMDR Madarac has a Master of Arts (Strategy and Security). He is keen outdoorsman, enjoying camping, hunting and fishing, and participates in a variety of sports.
CMDR Madarac assumed command of HMAS Stalwart on 13 December 2022.
