LCDR Beau Mulraney

Lieutenant Commander Beau Mulraney, RAN joined the Royal Australian Navy in 2005 as a Maritime Warfare Officer. He completed basic military and Officer training before completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Politics and History at ADFA in 2008. He then progressed through the Junior Warfare Officers’ Application Course (JWAC), which included sea time in HMA Ships Sydney, Glenelg and Maryborough. Mulraney gained his Bridge Warfare Certificate (BWC) in Sydney in 2010 and remained on board for Officer of the Watch (OOW) consolidation until the end of 2011.

In 2012, Lieutenant Commander Mulraney posted to the Royal Australian Navy Dive School for completion of Mine Warfare and Clearance Diving Officer Course. After graduation, he posted to HMAS Diamantina, serving as the Diving Officer from 2013-15 where he completed multiple Operation RESOLUTE and RENDER SAFE deployments. He then undertook a posting to Western Australia as the inaugural OIC of AUSCDT Four’s newly formed Expeditionary Reconnaissance and Clearance Element which saw participation in a multitude of major exercises and Operations over the next three years.

In 2019 Mulraney returned to sea as the Executive Officer in HMAS Gascoyne prior to promotion and being selected as the first Officer to fulfil the reinvigorated role of Fleet MCDO at Sea Training Group.

He is currently studying a Masters in Business through UNSW with a focus on leadership and high performance.

Lieutenant Commander Mulraney assumed the role of Commanding Officer HMAS Huon (II) in December 2021.
