VIETNAM 1965-72
HMAS Sydney (III) was awarded the battle honour VIETNAM 1965-72 for 24 voyages to Vietnam, amounting to 25 operational visits to Vung Tau, earning her the famous nickname 'Vung Tau Ferry'. She transported 16094 troops, 5753 deadweight tons of cargo and 2375 vehicles during that time.
