ADF Transitions
Support is available to all members leaving the ADF. Members must complete their transition with ADF Transition in order to understand the process, administrative requirements and the support that is available.

Offers a range of services to help you move to your new location.
Transition for Employment (T4E)
Supports eligible members with the development of their future career and employment opportunities outside of Defence. Access to the program is by referral only (by CO, rehab manager, MECRB).
Joint Transition Authority
Works with ex-service organisations and other government agencies for transition support, using a ‘whole of system’ approach to identify opportunities for improvement, address gaps, remove unnecessary duplication, integrate existing services and influence new ones.
Working Spirit
Working Spirit offers employment opportunities for Australian military veterans and is Western Australia’s local veteran-focused recruitment agency. They work with businesses to place suitably skilled, experienced and motivated veterans into roles and opportunities available throughout their organisation.
Australian Veteran Health Services (AVHS)
Medical practice run by veterans for veterans. Their doctors can assist you with DVA claims, Permanent Impairment Assessments, ADF Transition Medicals, CASA and FAA Pilot Medicals.

Housing and related services for Defence members and their families.
APS Career Pathways and Job Opportunities
Defence APS employees are employed in an array of critical positions, Australia-wide, enabling our three services - Navy, Army and Air Force - to do their job. Defence employs public servants across Australia and around the world.
Study Assist
Provides information for students about government assistance for financing tertiary study.
Job Outlook
An initiative of the Australian Government Nation Skills Commission, providing information about Australian careers, labour market trends and employment projections.
ACU - Veterans’ Entry Program (Undergraduate Courses)
Assists veterans to transition from military to civilian life, broaden personal networks, and create a pathway to gainful employment with higher education. Completion of two years’ ADF experience gives you a rank of 82, which is entry into most Australian Catholic University Bachelor degrees.
Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)
A return to civilian life brings big changes, and the more you prepare, the smoother things will go. DVA will work with Defence to help you prepare, and you can start to plan your new life while you still serve.

DVA - Ex-Service Organisations
Veteran Support Centre (RSL)
Assists serving and former ADF members and their families, and police and emergency services to all conflicts, with DVA claims and welfare.
Veterans Support Centre (RSLACT)
Trained advocates, who are former servicemen and women, using their extensive experience to help with DVA Claims. Advocacy services are provided for all members of the veteran community, including serving members.
RSL Employment Program
Powered by RSLQld, this is a nationally available free program that helps veterans and their families find civilian employment.
Go Beyond - Navigating life beyond service (GMRF & RSLQld)
A free online self-directed training program based on individual needs, designed to help guide veterans through their adjustment to civilian life using the latest research and practical activities and resources.
Survive to Thrive
Online evidence-based personal development course designed for current and former service personnel to reach their full potential in mental health and transitioning back to civilian life. Provides 24hr access to peer support and mentors for emotional support, accountability and motivation.
